There are feelings of detachment and separation in these pages, there are dreams and fears of a life that constantly reinvents itself. Elio shares his hopes and recalls the defeats, the suffering, the disappointments encountered in the  multiple occasions in which he touched rock bottom and had to start over again. But he also celebrates the joys and the triumphs of “making it,” when the only things he could count on were his inner strength and stubbornness.
