Mario d’Offizi

Mario d’Offizi is a Cape Town based poet, writer and magazine editor.

He is married with four children and has seven grandchildren.

With no formal training or tertiary education,Mario has been publishing poetry from a very young age and has had poems published in various publications, Cape Argus, Cape times, New Coin (Rhodes University), amongst others. Over the years he has read his poems at various venues, including the University of Cape Town and the ‘old’ Space Theatre. His collection of poems Banana Crates & Wire Mesh was launched at the Cape Town Book Fair in 2011.

Bless Me Father, first published in 2007 and reprinted in 2010, is his first book. The autobiography was translated into Italian and launched at the Ferrara Literary Festival in Ferrara, Italy, in October 2011.
