Bishop Mwamba was born in Mansa, Zambia and educated in America, Zambia and Oxford University, England. He has degrees in law, theology and social anthropology. He was elected Bishop of Botswana in 2004.
He preached at the thanksgiving service in Lusaka celebrating the 80th birthday of the first Zambian president, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, and at the interdenominational service commemorating Zambia’s 40th anniversary of independence. Past presidents Kaunda and Chiluba and President Mwanawasa, all attended the service.
The Bishop is featured in two of Alexander McCall Smith’s novels In the Company of Cheerful Ladies and Blue Shoes and Happiness.
